Your Knowledge and Intuition as a Parent Is Valuable Information
In a comprehensive evaluation, Dr. Meyer works collaboratively with families to develop an individualized assessment for each child in her care.
She uses scientifically-rigorous tools and methods in a flexible framework so that you can go on to make more confident and informed parenting choices.
Each evaluation is individually designed to uncover a child's unique profile of strengths and challenges as they relate to his or her behavior and overall functioning. The process is carefully tailored over time and across settings, designed to arrive at a place of genuine understanding.
Data are gleaned from a variety of scientifically-validated research tools and the most current research-based care models available. Dr. Meyer meticulously documents and analyzes your child’s social-emotional, cognitive, and behavioral development and capabilities.
“We have stumbled down so many roads in our journey to find answers for our son that were not helpful. I’m grateful that we’re FINALLY on the right path. Now I’m so in love with my son’s brain!” —Parent of a 7-year-old son
This detailed level of understanding forms the basis for a highly targeted treatment plan designed to nurture your child's gifts, strengthen areas of relative challenge, and proactively support his or her long-term health and well-being.
Elements of the assessment may include (but are not limited to):
· Parent interviews
· Child testing sessions
· School observation
· Parent and teacher rating scales
· Comprehensive feedback session
All testing and observational sessions are carried out by Dr. Meyer, herself, in ways that are sensitive to your child’s comfort, attention span, and emotional state.
“I just attended my first parent-teacher conference where I was actually able to walk in with confidence. This must be just a taste of what my daughter feels every day after working with you. You’re one in a million!” —Parent of a 6-year-old daughter
Parents are equipped to be their child’s most powerful advocate when they have an in-depth, nuanced, and genuine understanding of their child’s areas of strength and challenge. Likewise, children whose needs are being met, and who feel genuinely understood and supported are in a position to be able to express their gifts and live up to their own best intentions.
“When I read the positive comments on my son’s report card, I cried. He has been doing so much better, and we’ll be forever grateful for the support, guidance, and love you showed both our son and us." —Parent of a 6-year-old son
